Room for Wonder

An interactive contemporary dance piece based on fairytales

IJAD Dance company uses technology to make their work more accessible

Joumana Mourad recently led the development of Open Online Theatre, a tool and method for creating interactive digital performances.

Room for Wonder is a piece choreographed by Joumana Mourad for 360-degree live-streaming. The audience could input into the performance during the development process but also during the performance.

As dramaturg for Room for Wonder I supported Mourad in structuring when and how audience input would be incorporated into the performance. We also worked together to develop the physical journey into the auditorium, creating a sensory fairytale experience before the performance itself.

Leading up to this project, I worked as General Manager for IJAD Dance Company, developing a business plan, building partnerships and writing funding bids.
